Balliu was born in 1968 near the Costa Brava thanks to the vision of our founders, Josep Balliu García and Carme Balliu Falgueras. Since the beginning, our goal has been clear: to offer high-quality, durable, and environmentally friendly outdoor furniture solutions.
Josep Balliu Garcia
In 1971, the Oasis model was launched on the market, a sunlounger made with a steel metal structure. The first sunloungers were sold at the Hostal Ribot in Caldes de Malavella and later at the Balneari Prats in the same town.
In 1981, the iron Eva sunlounger was launched, an innovative, stackable and resistant product. Sales quickly began throughout Spain.
In 1987, Mr. Josep Balliu had the idea of using polypropylene instead of iron, and the Eva RG sunlounger was born, which quickly became the star product on all the beaches in the world.
In 2018, the Eva Pro hammock was developed, an evolution of our reference. Performance was improved, resulting in a more modern, resistant and optimal product for professionals. Currently, our hammocks are present in more than 80 countries and the company has become a reference in the manufacture of outdoor furniture.
At Balliu, we are committed to caring for the environment by implementing measures that promote circular economy, including optimizing our resources and prolonging the lifecycle of our furniture.
Do you know about the Plan Renove?
The Plan Renove is an initiative aimed at recycling outdated beach hammocks from the Mediterranean coast and converting them into raw materials for manufacturing other products.
